Design: Patel Taylor, architects. Sensitive but contemporary twist on the traditional English almshouse: a radical shake up of an established design typology, providing a series of spacious single-storey dwellings for elderly residents.

Design: ROBERT KERR architecture design. This Californian beach house responds to extraordinary site conditions as a progressive revealing of a sculpted interior. Cantilevering on 3 sides, the top level is sculpted to express openings and exaggerate its weight.

Ben Jacks’ book The Architect’s Tour: Notes for the Design Traveler, by Culicidae Architectural Press: this publication records a lovely project, a wander through some of the most important European buildings of the last century.
Design: Architekti Šebo Lichý. A family home located on a steep, narrow slope in a densely built-up area. The house artfully fits into the hillside to fully utilize the possibilities of the space, offering panoramic views of the city.
Design: Richard Lindvall. Interior for celebrated restaurateurs Tim Karlsson and Michael Andreasson. The building was used by the Swedish Tax Agency: a maze of tiny meeting rooms with low ceilings were stripped out, removing any trace of the old bureaucrats.

Design: Matt Gagnon. Commissioned by the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs to create public art for the LA Fire Department’s Air Operations facility, this is a sculptural installation located at the Van Nuys Airport in California.
Design: Lang Architecture. Encompassing 131 acres of lush Catskills forest this project features 26 architect-designed dwellings meticulously crafted from locally-sourced, sustainable materials. The two-story, 2,800-sqft model residence uses distinctive wood details throughout.
