SKYPE office
Design of the new Swedish head office for Skype. The project consists of audio and video studios, offices and social areas for 100 staff. The core idea behind the Skype software application has generated the design concept for the interior of the new office; the idea being that Skype is a useful and playful tool that allows chats, voice and video calls over the Internet.

The design of the building playfully responds to the restrictions imposed by the building regulations as well as to the schedule of accommodation for the different floors, and develops an encasing figure that encloses all the activities of the bank in a continuous form. The continuity of the building envelope conveys a sense of identity to both staff and customers, while the building’s volumetric shaping ensures it a striking role in the appearance of the town.

Sowwah Square
Commission by Mubadala Development Company to design Sowwah Square, a new business center on Abu Dhabi’s Sowwah Island in the United Arab Emirates. The project totals 3,125,500 square feet of office space and features an iconic stock exchange building surrounded by four office towers, all overlooking the water.

The main archive is housed in a building with great thermal mass and insulation. It is naturally cooled, thus avoiding the normal archive need for air conditioning and forced humidity control. An exquisite oak gridshell roof, consummately detailed and supported on triangular struts, forms the major space.

The client asked Budi Pradono Architects to design an office for his aircraft component distribution business in Jakarta. The building will function as the storage building.

Office building “Steckelhörn 11” is located in the old centre of Hamburg, close to the prominent new “Hafen City” development. It replaces a ruinous building and fills the gap between two historic premises.
