Rockefeller Center New York

Named after John D. Rockefeller, Jr., who developed it from 1930.

Apart from the history of these 21 buildings, and the strong public realm (including stunnign friezes and sculptures), two things stand out : the beautiful ice rink – Outdoor Plaza in winter – and the supreme luxury of the Rainbow Rooms at the very top looking out over Manhattan. You can drink cocktails or dance away at the top of one of the highest skyscrapers in the city, or both.
