The Starokaluzhskoye Shosse Tower project is located on Starokaluzhskoye Shosse in Moscow’s Obruchevsky District, next to the Vorontsovskaya station on the Big Circle Line. Its urban role is defined by this setting: a dense transport node, a changing metropolitan context, and a site with clear physical constraints that strongly influenced the composition. The complex is conceived as a distinct architectural presence within this environment, with a lively silhouette and a taller tower marking the side facing the metro.

The scheme consists of two residential towers connected by a one-storey podium and accompanied by a separate low-rise office volume. The architecture is built on contrast. This is visible in the relationship between the residential and office parts, in the difference between the two towers, and in the balance between a more expressive skyline and a more restrained ground-level composition. Rather than aiming for visual uniformity, the project uses difference as its main organising principle.

The two residential towers share the same architectural language and a common facade module based on a two-part square grid, yet each has its own profile and completion. The taller tower rises in stepped facade modules that shape the upper part of the volume and reinforce its vertical movement. The smaller tower ends in a pointed roof, introducing a more explicitly residential image into the composition. This gives it associations with pitched roofs and spires and adds a sense of shelter, privacy, and domesticity. Set against the more rational background of the office quarter, this silhouette becomes a deliberate accent and gives the ensemble a broader emotional range.

The facade material is brick in a gradient that moves from dark grey, almost black, at the base toward white at the top. Applied vertically on the towers, this transition lightens the buildings as they rise and strengthens the perception of air and distance. Large glazed surfaces, dark metal elements, clinker cladding, and precise facade detailing give the complex a measured and tactile character without making the elevations visually heavy.

The open space around the buildings is treated as an active shared environment. The site includes a promenade, sports and recreation areas, children’s playgrounds for different age groups, extensive planting, custom benches, picnic areas, and a kinetic sculpture. These elements turn the landscape into a full part of the project and support the transition from transport-adjacent urban fabric to a more inhabitable residential setting.

In built form, the complex includes a 45-storey residential tower, a 20-storey residential tower, and a 2-storey office building. The tallest volume reaches approximately 163.6 metres, giving the project a clear role in the skyline of this part of south-west Moscow. The result is a mixed-use complex that combines a strong metropolitan presence with a deliberately residential architectural image.
