Squeezed in & temporary. A gallery as part of the gallery-dealer’s home. The gallery is meant to have a short existence, probably no more than three or four years. There’s a necessity for walls, to separate gallery from home, public from private.
This project is located on a relatively open beach head, formerly a campsite, lying below and across the main Oban – Lochgilphead road from the village of Arduaine.
The skin is envisioned as a hybrid shell-like system with two-way spanning characteristics that exhibit both robustness and efficiency. Folded-plate trusses span along the first principle axis.
