International VELUX Award 2014 for Students of Architecture Winners

International VELUX Award 2014 for Students of Architecture – winners news. Hyunjeong Kim from the Berlin University of the Arts in Germany won first prize for her project, ‘Ferro Fluid Scales’.

The second prize went to Iris van den Brink and Anneloes de Koff from the University of Technology in Delft in the Netherlands, for their project called ‘The Swipe’.

Bukit Timah Residence, Singapore

Design: Wallflower Architecture + Design. This house sits on high ground, and the rear of the site has wonderful views overlooking the greener and more affluent residential addresses in Singapore.

The brief was to design a home of two stories, with an attic, and importantly a roof terrace facing the rear and overlooking the valley.

This 18 storey building is designed to give 360 degree panoramic views to downtown Lagos and across the Gulf of Guinea to the Atlantic Ocean.

Dunne & Crescenzi Kildare Village, Ireland

Design: Ghinlon Architecture. This is an Italian restaurant, Dunne & Crescenzi, set in the luxury retail Kildare Village, in the Republic of Ireland. The fit-out was carried out in phases within a live trading environment. It was a collaborative venture. Kildare Village were a key player in the process, providing logistical support every step of the way.

The new ballet building will be created on the historic site of the former Rheinbahn depot “am Steinberg” in Düsseldorf.

The building will provide the Oper’s 50 professional dancers and the ballet school’s 55 students with two ballet rooms with full-size stage dimensions, three smaller practice rooms as well as rest rooms, showers, a physiotherapy room and an apartment for guest artists.
