Departures from the Norm – The World’s Most Spectacular Train Stations
Rail travel typically only starts to become an experience during the journey itself. Sometimes, though, the adventure begins before even leaving the platform.
Design: msd-office, architects. This building consists of a two stories high rectangular box with a meter deep balcony, which functions both as a semi-outdoor corridor connecting the rooms on the upper floor, and as a roof over the ground floor entrance porch and veranda.
Design: Snøhetta, architects. A coherent design including retail design, web design, signage, and brand design for everything from business cards to shoe boxes, as well as a customized typeface bringing all the elements together.
World Architecture Festival Berlin: WAF 2016
Architects from around the world will gather on on the 16 – 18 November in Germany for the world’s largest architectural awards programme.
Hall McKnight, an award-winning architectural practice from Belfast, has won the Gallaudet University International Design Competition. Washington, D.C. higher education institution to advance deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
UNStudio in collaboration with Heerim win competition to design 32-tower masterplan for the Eunma Housing Development in Daechi-Dong, Seoul. The approach is to be a blueprint for resident-driven development projects.

Design: Luigi Rosselli, Architects. It is quite rare in Woollahra to have a house waterfront residence so close to the water. One gets the feeling of being in Sydney Harbour when looking out of the oversized wafer-thin framed windows.
Design: AMArchitects. With a total construction area of 26-30 million m², Qianhai is expected to create 650,000 jobs and house 150,000 residents by 2020. The six lots forming part of the project area are part of a dense urban mesh.
Design: Ramon Esteve, architects. The House in the Forest is set within a large pine forest. The aim of the proposal is the creation of different outdoor areas linked to the rooms inside, according to their level of privacy.
Design: Chyutin Architects. The main entrance to the building includes an exhibition gallery facing the central garden courtyard. The entrance to the floor below is through the level of the central garden courtyard and includes a conference room, a lecture hall, a cafeteria and the upper level of the two-storey library.
Al Rayyan Stadium and Precinct are designed to showcase Qatar’s culture. The new, 40,000-seat stadium building is a venue for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar.

Design: Wingårdhs, architects. Krokslätt Factories is an industrial area south of Gothenburg that is registered as a cultural heritage site. The large brick textile factories are now being expanded with a new development in which the primary focus is on sustainability.
