The Prince Claus Bridge is a cable-stayed bridge that connects the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal , between Utrecht territories Kanaleneiland and Papendorp . The bridge was designed by Ben van Berkel , who is also the Rotterdam Erasmus Bridge designed.

This new crossing was planned for a long time, and was designated as the Papendorpse bridge. The idea to name the bridge Claus van Amsberg came from residents of Kanaleneiland. Princess Máxima opened the Prince Claus Bridge on June 25, 2003. The bridge connects the Churchilllaan with 5 Meiplein.

The bridge is initially only the connection of the new office area Pape Village and the city. In time, the bridge will be part of the second HOV -route to the Vinex Leidsche Rijn. The bridge has four lanes and cycle paths, two for normal traffic and two bus lanes.
