Francis Bacon’s life, from 1909 – 1992, covered an exceptional period of transformation in architecture and art. He worked at a time when continental modernism, in art, architecture and design, was reinvented in a British context.
plug_in is a cultural association founded in 2003. It operates as an experimental workshop used by members Emanuele Piccardo, Luisa Siotto and Alessandro Lanzetta to promote the propagation of architecture and contemporary visual arts.
The workshop is open to designers (architect, planners, product designers, landscape architects..) at the end of their academic studies or during the development of their work at graduate level.

After the AGM, and Gordon Murray’s thoughtful introduction, Lewis Macdonald praised Aberdeen, for quite a while (beware politicians, they like the sound of their own voice) and said of the Scottish Parliament, “ambitious design will always cause controversy and debate”. The day’s chairman, the rather demure and not-so-vigourous Jonathan Woolf waved us into the first speaker, the energetic Professor Richard Weston.
