Located in the still bleak Bijlmermeer Neighbourhood – the vast area of mass social housing developed in the 1960s and 1970s to the south-east of Amsterdam.
Design: Studioninedots + DELVA Landscape Architects
Studioninedots and DELVA Landscape Architects present the dynamic masterplan Buiksloterham, commissioned by housing corporation de Alliantie. Through an innovative urban, landscape and social development plan, the former Nedcoat and Air Products sites in the harbour area of Buiksloterham will be regenerated in a sustainable way.
Exhibition design: ATELIER BRÜCKNER, Germany. The National Maritime Museum in Amsterdam (Het Scheepvaartmuseum) is presenting its extensive collection of maps and atlases in a new setting.
The exhibition, “The Atlases”, is being shown in the east wing of the museum, part of the ‘object galleries’, designed by architects ATELIER BRÜCKNER and opened in 2011.
Design: BenthemCrouwel Architects. The new levitated superstructure contains exhibition space, a restaurant, a shop and the new entrance. The new building, popularly called ‘the Bath Tub’, adds over 9,000 sqm to the historic museum building. This includes programme space as well as 3,400 sqm of exhibition space
