Mosque of Córdoba Building, since 784-; 961; 987, Andalucia, southern Spain: this religious site has gone from Secular to Christian to Islamic and back to Christian: Site of Roman temple, later a Christian Visigoth church in the 7th Century.
The workshop building is located in a context of sculptural industrial buildings along the Albertkanaal, a canal connecting the cities of Antwerp and Luik. Our task was to design an inexpensive building that houses an extraordinary multitude of functions.
The housing block with 79 apartments in Zaandam nestles itself into its surroundings like a snake into its basket. The block contains rental apartments for the free and social housing sector as well as 14 service apartments and collective facilities for young handicapped people.
