Boston Society of Architects 2015 Design Awards news
The 2015 winners were honored at the BSA Design Award Gala. Award categories include Interior Architecture / Interior Design; Campus and Urban Planning; and Unbuilt Architecture and Design.
Architect: Daniele Claudio Taddei. This one of the first lofts in the city dating back to the 80s, it needed to be brought into this century. Tension has been created with the contrast of divergent materials.
Design: Architecture Open Form. The Du Tour Residence is a renovation project. This Laval home, designed by an architect in the ‘60s, has belonged to the same family for decades. Its very special character and distinctive details were to be retained.
Design: UAB, architects. The Palanga concert hall’s round white facade not only gives sense of lightness to a relatively big volume, but also highlights a valuable historic building by forming a contrasting background to it.

For 3 generations, 2 cats and 1 dog living under one roof was a bit tight, so the grandparents decided to use a leftover corner from their property to get their own roof, building a house attached to the old one for themselves and their pets in this neighborhood adjacent the City of Zurich.
The Scottish Civic Trust has produced a Six Point Action Plan for the Next Scottish Government in anticipation of the Holyrood 2016 elections. It was distributed to MSPs and parliamentary candidates last week.
