Paulo Mendes da Rocha receives the 2017 Royal Gold Medal for architecture
The Royal Institute of British Architects award Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Brazil’s most celebrated living architect, will receive the 2017 Royal Gold Medal.

Architects Foster + Partners’ competition winning scheme for a new luxury hotel and serviced apartments in the heart of Makkah has been revealed.
Design: Wright & Wright Architects. The project spans the three lower floors of Nos. 3&4 Carlton House terrace – which was designed by John Nash in 1827- and contains an exciting combination of vaults and double-height spaces.

Design: Buck & Simple: doers of stuff. A traditional semi-detached house seeks to accommodate a multitude of roles for a young family into a single space. The design incorporates all living areas into one compact, 8mx3.5m volume.
