Isabelle

Isabelle Lomholt was born in Bath, England and attended school in Denmark from 1974 to 1987. She completed an Architecture degree in 1995 at North London University (RIBA Part 1). After a year (per RIBA post-Part 1 process) working as an architectural assistant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Isabelle attended East London University from 1996, where she did a MA / Diploma in Architecture (RIBA Part 2). Isabelle worked as the Bookshop Manager at the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS), later transitioning to being the Administrator of the Edinburgh Architectural Association, a members body within the RIAS. She started working as Assistant Editor of e-architect in 2004, eventually becoming Managing Director in 2016.

The Boat House is a contemporary interpretation of those wonderful boat houses usually situated on a man-made lake in a designed landscape not dissimilar to the situation created here in Lower Mill Estate.

This talk by Jens Kvorning really explained both past and present Copenhagen planning and architecture issues. Jens’ explanation of the newer Danish buildings, such as Henning Larsen’s warehouse-type finger blocks, was made poignant and understandable by the earlier descriptions of the creation of Copenhagen city and harbour.
