Olafur Eliasson studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. He is responsible for Versailles Waterfall in Paris and in the past for The weather project in the Turbine Hall of Tate Modern, London.

Sam Fox School, AIA St. Louis announce $50,000 fellowship for emerging architects. The “built environment is frequently characterized by rigid typologies and inflexible designs. How can buildings keep pace with changing cultures and contexts?”
Design: James Ingo Freed of I. M. Pei and Partners, Architects. This large convention center is located on Eleventh Avenue, between 34th and 40th streets, on the West side of Manhattan in New York City.
Design: Daniel Burnham, Architect with Frederick P. Dinkelberg. Famous piece of New York architecture that appears on numerous postcards and in many films, so-named due to its sharp pointed plan.
Design: Handel Architects. Shiny new building in Chelsea: a 184,000 sqft boutique hotel. The 12-story building includes 316 guestrooms, two restaurants, rooftop and VIP lounges, outdoor pool and pool bar, a gym, event space, and ground floor retail.
McDowell+Benedetti separate after twenty years to form Benedetti Architects and Matter Architecture. The London-based architecture practice was formed in 1996
New BFI International Centre for Film, TV and the Moving Image gains offer of support of up to £87m towards the £130m total project cost. The new building should open in 2022.
RIBA National Architecture Centre in Liverpool. To be opened by The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) with conference facilities and a gallery “at its heart”: it will “explore the enormous impact that architecture and design has on our lives”.
Architects: David Childs of Skidmore Owings & Merrill (SOM). 10 Columbus Circle shopping mall, 5-star hotel, Time Warner offices, apartments, TV studios, concert hall. This development is formed from a pair of interconnected mixed-use skyscrapers.
John A. Roebling, designer / civil engineer. This well known bridge in New York City is one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States. Completed in 1883, it connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn by spanning the East River.
Architect: Allford Hall Monaghan Morris. This project between Oxford street and Soho Square was being developed by Derwent London. Originally a tower was proposed but this was rejected by City of Westminster Council.
Design: TACKarchitects – ART[house] at its core attempts to blur the boundaries between interior and exterior environments, while creating a sophisticated canvas in which the owner can display their extensive art collection. The design finds inspiration from the work of Richard Neutra, and some of his more notable projects such as the Kaufmann House.
