5 hotels that combine great architecture and top technology

26 May 2022

It is the perfect combination: design and technology. Two of the variables that a hotel must perfect to be a reference among its target clientele. Today we are going to see some examples of establishments that have achieved it.

To offer more diversity, we will talk about five hotels with incredible architecture and cutting-edge technology that are located in five very different locations. Specifically, we will make a trip to Thailand, Greece, Spain, France and Mexico.

Banyan Tree Krabi, Thailand

Banyan Tree Krabi is a 5 star beachfront villa resort in Krabi. Its design has a spa theme within a tropical jungle. Sounds good, right?

Designed by Architrave studio, it is inspired by Buddhism as well as the natural landscape, water and a mythical sea creature from local Krabi legends. Another of Banyan Tree Krabi’s most striking architectural features is its open-air lobby with a large circular waterfall tumbling into a stream that runs below an underground room.

In addition to design, this establishment also offers its guests the latest technology and is equipped with a chromecast for hotels system.

Ultima Corfu, Greece

What makes Ultima Corfu’s design special is its spectacular location, being situated on a hillside overlooking the rugged coastline and the crystal clear deep blue waters of the Ionian Sea.

This 7-bedroom villa equipped with the TV system for hotels provided by ZAFIRO perfectly combines the exterior landscape with the interior spaces, with an unspoiled 180-degree view of the sea and the green coast, which can be enjoyed especially from the two infinity pools of 20 meters of two levels.

Bahía del Duque, Spain

100,000 square meters was more than enough space for the Spanish architect Andrés Piñero to unleash his creativity and create the impressive work of Spanish architecture that is the Bahía del Duque hotel.

The added nuances of artificially heated saltwater pools shimmering in the Tenerife sun and tall green palm trees are what make this establishment stand out, offering a paradise resort setting.

Meliá Paris La Défense, France

Speaking of hotels with gala architecture and design makes it necessary to mention Meliá Paris La Défense. Shaped like a ship’s hull, it is a true technical feat, designed by Vasconi Architects and decorated by Jean-Philippe Nuel.

Its main asset is the “look over Paris” it offers, with a clear and unobstructed view of the monuments of the French capital, the Arc de Triomphe, the Fondation Vuitton and the Eiffel Tower.

Sun Palace Cancún, Mexico

In-house architects redesigned the Sun Palace Cancun and the careful modern exterior aesthetics that it offers is the work of a design team led by Claudia Ferreiro. Upon entering its lobby, guests are instantly transformed by its unique, tropical, modern and elegant look, rivaling any of the most sought after hotels in the world.

Its architecture is new and fresh, inspired by the textures of nature, sand tones and earthy materials, creating a space that combines architecture and interior design with the powerful landscape and infinite panorama of the Caribbean Sea.
