Williamsburg Hotel Brooklyn, NY, USA : Oppenheim Architecture+Design

This New York building attempts to capture the essence of this vibrant neighborhood. Adjacent to both the Williamsburg Bridge and the historic Williamsburg Savings Bank, the building, expresses itself as three dramatically proportioned, rectilinear volumes of varied height and materiality.

Designed by Preston Scott Cohen, the 195,000-square-foot building adds an unprecedented work of contemporary architecture to the campus of the Museum—Israel’s principal institution of modern and contemporary art—and provides a new international landmark at the center of Israel’s cultural capital.
le Nouveau Longchamp à Paris, France : Dominique Perrault

The Longchamp Racecourse is a 57 hectare horse-racing facility located on the Route des Tribunes in the Bois de Boulogne in Paris, France. t has several racetracks varying from 1,000 to 4,000 metres in length with 46 different starting posts.

The architects have highlighted the bridge function between the city quarters with a 57 meter high and nearly 400 meter long barrel vault roof above the terminal concourse. Its curved roof is reminiscent of a large scale city gate and the long, stretched out concourse beneath of a classic place of transit.

To the north of King’s Cross and St Pancras International railway stations, 67-acres of derelict land are being transformed in what is one of Europe’s largest urban regeneration projects. The result will be a vibrant mixed-use quarter, at the physical and creative heart of which will be the new University of the Arts London campus, home of Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design.

On the northernmost edge of Manhattan, where Broadway crosses with Tenth Avenue and the elevated tracks of the 1 subway line, the building forms a new gateway to the Baker Athletics Complex, the primary athletics facility for Columbia University’s outdoor sports program.
Roca London, England : Zaha Hadid Architects

Zaha Hadid Architects and Roca are delighted to announce the opening of a brand new flagship space, the Roca London Gallery, at Imperial Wharf close to Chelsea Harbour. Zaha Hadid Architects were commissioned to create this unique concept which takes its inspiration from the power of water as a transforming element and which will bring the Roca London Gallery to life.

Located on Iron Age Road east of the town of Joshua Tree, Yucca Crater is a synthetic earthwork that doubles as a recreational amenity. This monumental basin stands 30 feet from rim to low point. Rock climbing holds mounted on the interior allow visitors to descend into a deep pool of water.

The Factory adjoins two caparisoned metal hulls built in front of the raw concrete outgrowths of the Dubigeon naves and hoists a shimmering tower on the former shipyard shelter, booster for the talents who experience creation as a shared future.
Dresden Military History Museum, Germany – to open : Studio Daniel Libeskind

The redesigned Dresden Museum of Military History is now the official central museum of the German Armed Forces. It will house an exhibition area of roughly 21,000 square feet, making it Germany’s largest museum. The armory was built from 1873 –1876 and became a museum in 1897.
Novancia business school Paris, France : Architecture-Studio

Following a competition organised by the Paris Chamber of Commerce, the restructuring and extension of Novancia business school, located on Armand Moisant street in Paris, was entrusted to AS.Architecture-Studio. This higher education institution, specialising in entrepreneurship, should accommodate 1500 students in 2011.

In the guise of the Hamburg Philharmonic Hall, Hamburg is acquiring a new and impressive concert house, one that seems destined to house one of the world’s ten best concert halls. This should be an outstanding location for performing classical music as well as jazz, world music and pop music.
