The dominant materiality of the project, large format brick and slender pre-stressed concrete elements (beige in color), binds the outside spaces with that of the large internal atrium space. Further tonal and material compliment is found in the vibrant green special divisions (doors and divisions), with smooth Formica finish.

Stunning images and bold design by Danish architects studio BIG, led by upcoming star Bjarke Ingels. The future observation tower is conceived as a tall core of reinforced concrete with an open-air spiral sphere at its top, resembling a metaphorical pin firmly marking a location on a map.
Beverly Hills Residence, California, USA – added : Heusch Inc Architecture
photo : Frederico Zignani
The house is an example of an innovative solution to circumvent the 15 foot setback requirement for hillside residences. By elevating the structure the need for a tall retaining wall, 15 feet away from the structure was eliminated. Furthermore the intention was to minimize the impact on the beautiful natural site heavily wooded with oak trees.
